To find your carotid artery pulse, lightly place your index and middle finger on either side of the front of your neck, just below the angle of your jaw bone. If you have a hard time feeling your pulse, try moving your fingers down an inch, or try feeling your pulse on the other side of your neck.

Measuring Your Heart Rate

Try feeling your pulse while holding your iPhone in your other hand. Gently tap the screen each time you feel a beat.

Although you should try to tap each beat, if after tapping a couple of good beats you miss a beat, HeartZone's error correction will correct for the missing beat and still give you an accurate reading.
